Last considerations

One more thing, this integrity is not a born train. You can acquire it. You can practice it. You can develop it.

Soul searching, guidance seeking, and applying best practices while being selective of friends who influence you are all starting points to becoming a better accountable man living in integrity.

Giving your best when temptation says to give your least.

Learning what you can to improve instead of coasting on enough.

Keeping your yes as yes and keeping your no as no to be dependable helps a lot.

Constantly learning and seeking ways to improve helps you step up and do better.

There is a spiritual component to this as well. Studying how to improve your spiritual nature will go a long way to helping you understand the ways of living in integrity.

While today’s post focused more on men and skimmed over many points, do know this, being the head of your home is a full time job that requires professional grade ethics. Living in authentic integrity is not a child’s game. While the lessons are learned in childhood and bear fruits in adulthood, one can’t play small as the head of a home.

Others depend on you. Others look to you for leadership. It is up to you to make the home the best it can be. You’re the leader. You’re accountable.

Closing Spotlight

No matter where you’re at in your life, no matter how you feel… understand that you can make a difference where you’re at. The choices you make today will shape the type of tomorrow you have. While as the head of the home means you’re impacting all who depend on you, keep also in mind that not being your best limits others from becoming their best. A child will learn from her dad just how strong a lady she can be. Will you allow her to grow and be a queen, or will your failure to improve mean she’s going to live in doubt of her abilities?

This head of household business has generational ramifications. Do work on having integrity in all that you are. The future rests on your ability to stay accountable to yourself, your spouse, your children, your social network… to be the best that you can be.

Go and make this coming week your best week yet. Lead your home by example. The ripple effect may save their lives and motivate them to be their best selves.
