The Pivot: The Shift around a Call

In the case of my penmanship, the call was getting too hard to ignore. I am not a writer, but we discussed that already. The point I want to make is this, just because you’re not doesn’t mean you’re never going to be. As a child, curiosity and genuine seeking of knowledge made life fun. Today, in the concrete jungle that is known a the rat race, survival is of primal importance. It doesn’t matter if you’re fir or not, you have to grind to get by. And most times, we’re really not fit. We sacrifice our health for the grind and have little to show for it.

Because we’re often stuck in a reactionary mindset with no time to reflect let alone think, moving forward progressively is considered a luxury. Many have asked me how can they better themselves when they’ve got no time to go to the gym. No time to read a book. No time to hang out with friends. No time to find out what their passion is, or was, or where it went. Marriages, because a state of auto-pilot, cruise with hopes that divorce never happens. You can’t wish disaster away or pray for luck to deliver what you want if you’re not even aware of what you want or need.

In the middle of my journey towards parenthood, I was just trying to maintain my head above water. While that may still be the case today, the difference is that today I’m feeling alive. In the process, at times painful, it became clear that I was given a call to share ideas to others in a manner to uplift and create positive change. How, no idea. When, no clue. For whom, wish I knew. But the call is there. Just like you have yours.

About that moment when you get called

Which brings back the original point in case. I am not a writer. But, now I’m learning the craft of authorship. One of the many tools available to authorship is writing. And presto. The blog is here.

It’s work.

It’s tough.

It’s hard.

And my motto has always been… “if mothers can do it, I’ve got no excuse”.

So, with a growing family and even less time resource available, I gave in to the call. Now, here I am sharing with you a blog version of the sermon I delivered. The understanding is that one day I will better translate the spoken word into the read word and the experience will be similar enough.

One of the things that has kept me moving forward is that whenever God calls, He also provides. Samuel was anointed and given gifts that allowed him to conduct his call in a most God glorifying way. I am now learning that in the pursuit of the call, new skills develop each day that makes it easier to convey the message I have to convey.

There are skills that you’ll never uncover if you don’t start working in the direction of where you have to go. If you don’t know how to swim and never get into a pool, will you ever learn to swim? That’s how I am learning to feel about blogging. If I don’t do it, I won’t get good at it and the messages I have to share will not get shared as well as it could.

Pointing back to running a home, which is the main focus of this site, without doing the work of being the head of your household, you’ll never get to be the head of your household. The scary thing is this, without you leading your home, the influences that are have no cares about your ultimate outcome.

The outside influences are only worried about how you’re lining their pockets. OK, that’s an exaggeration. The outside is not as worried about your inside as you should be. Much better.
